Apple Pie in a smoothie form. Oh yes. I had some leftover homemade apple pie filling so I decided to blend it up into a smoothie with some almond milk. Of course it’s topped with homemade crumbled apple pie. Heaven in a mason jar. You’ll fall in love too. We made a little too much apple pie filling, so why not blend it up and make a delicious fall flavoured smoothie!? For our pie filling we used northern spy apples – they were recommended to us and are an excellent choice for baking. I even added a bit of the pie itself into the smoothie to give it a really creamy taste – or you can use some rolled oats to give it a similiar taste.
Oh fall, I love you. We got a half bushel of honeycrisp apples at the farmers’ market and have been sticking to the golden rule of eating an apple (actually, I lied….make that SEVERAL apples a day). Of course Abby had to investigate – she loves apples too.
K, go make this smoothie….it’s one that everyone will love!
1 cup homemade apple pie filling (apples cored and sliced, tossed in lemon juice, brown sugar, nutmeg and cinnamon)
1 1/2 cup of your choice non-dairy milk option (almond, sunflower, soy, hemp etc.)
2 tbsp crumbled homemade apple pie
Now just blend it all up and top with some crumbled apple pie ❤
