Snacks are key. Am I right? Especially when you are on the go and need some fuel between meals. Options are endless, but here’s a few quick and easy ones that come to mind so that you don’t resort to chips (don’t worry, we’ve all done it).
Coconut Yogurt w/ Cranberry Granola + Chia
Super easy. You know that granola cereal you bought that looked healthy? Use it for this. Or if you’re fancy and planned ahead, make some homemade granola using rolled oats, nuts, dried fruit, cinnamon and maple syrup. Scoop some yogurt of choice (coconut is used here) and poor some granola on top with some chia seeds and fresh/frozen fruit. This quick parfait will keep you satisfied and full until you next eat since it has fat, protein, carbs and some fruit (oh and not to mention the nutrition from the chia seeds).
Chai Berry Banana “Nice Cream” with Agave & Cacao Nibs
So this one you will need to plan ahead, but when you go to make it you’ll thank yourself. You know those bananas that may be a little overripe? Eff the banana bread. Peel them and cut them up. Place in an airtight container and freeze. Late night craving for something sweet but don’t wanna eat something that you’ll regret/feel guilty for later? Have no fear, banana “nice cream” to the rescue. It’s totally guilt free (AND delicious). Yup, you can have your cake and eat it too. Throw in your frozen bananas, frozen berries, some chai concentrate such as Tazo and process in a food processor until all ingredients are well combined. Top with some agave nectar and cacao nibs. No need to feel guilty for eating the entire bowl.
Berry and/or Green Smoothies
Smoothies are a regular go-to and always do the trick. Need a quick breakfast? Smoothie. Lunch? Smoothie. Need to get in some extra fruit or veg with dinner? Smoothie. Need a quick energizing snack at home or on the go? Smoothie. I think you get the gist here. We love smoothies because they are better than caffeine, let’s be real. I’m not a coffee drinker myself, but smoothies in the morning are amazing. They are always great snacks when you need some fuel but wanna be healthy about it. Throw in a banana, a handful of baby spinach and some ice + apple juice for a quick green smoothie, and a banana, frozen berries and nut milk/water/juice for a fruit smoothie. Sweet, filling, and satisfying. Smoothies will have you covered. Trust.
